As of early October 2025 the dome is pretty much complete. Just some minor work is still needed such as adding dust seals around the shutter opening to keep bugs and dust out, and I want to add an extension onto the back edge of the shutter to ensure rain won’t blow into the shutter motor opening.
The next important task is getting the shutter motor installed. The motor mount has been completed, but I still need to work out how to actually get it mounted in place up in the dome. Once I can open and close the shutter, I can get all the other fiddly things done like installing the lower door actuators and beginning to install the motor controller and its limit switches and such. So close yet seemingly so far to go before first light.
